CLINICS

The ‘Quarter Kids’ programme founded by Breako’day Quarterhorses offer  three hour intensive clinics run exclusively for youth interested in and currently competing in western peformance.    Each month focuses on a specific western event with fun, safety, achievement and of course friendship, all rolled into the one day.  Children from five to eighteen participate with ponies and quarter horses alike, all with enormous aspirations!  The training environment is primarily one of encouragement and technique allowing the children to develop their training progressively.

Quarter Kids are encouraged to try out their recently acquired skills at regional Quarter Horse Shows.  Many Quarter Kids starting out have gone on to win stateand national  titles with both the AQHA and NRHA. …. Courtney Norbury, Chelsea Raag, Lana Kelderman…. and many more.

                      What a Camp!

Seventeen enthusiastic riders attended  Quarter Kids Camp 2009.  The program began with a showmanship clinic, followed by a colt starting demonstration with brumbies from a large cattle station.  Next was a horsemanship clinic and finally a trail clinic. The evening provided for chuck wagon cooking with texan rubbed porterhouse steaks, a chilli pot, homestyle chips and tossed green salad all finished off with apple and peach cobbler.                           

The following day progressed with Hunt Seat Equitation, an equine dentistry seminar and demonstration,  a hunter under saddle demonstration, a hunter hack clinic, a reining demonstration and finally a reining clinic. The evening suceeded with  Equine Assisted Learning and a game of pony soccer .

The final day proceeded with a barrell racing clinic, show presentation seminar and demonstration, a western pleasure demonstration and finally our mini show. Congratulations to our High Point Garland Winners,  Jnr Youth: MItchell Urbaniak, Middle Youth: Kirrah Gilbertson, Senior Youth :Kristen Parlevliet. 

Presentations were made to Chelsea Urbaniak for best presented, Georgia Parlevliet, Brittney Henry and AJ Campbell for most improved, Most devoted to Ava Urbaniak and Holly Cruttendon, Bella Thompson to 1st time Quarter Kid, Bravest Rider awards went to AJ Campbell, Mitchell Urbaniak and Brittany Henry.  Littlest Cowboy went to Tom McCormick and junior coach award to Sarah McCormick.  The prestigious Quarter Kid of the Year award, a Montana Silversmiths bracelet went to Taylah Mathrick.

2010 QUARTER KIDS CAMP - SEMPTEMBER SCHOOL HOLIDAYS- TONIMBUK EQ CENTRE

Our creative quarter kids camp program provides extensive riding  lesson time.  Each day is filled with three training sessions and evening activities, with the intention of progressively developing young riders into accomplished AQHA, NRHA and NCHA competitors. Training sessions with professional instructors  will give an insight into the skills needed to perform in a variety of western performance events.

DAY ONE showmanship,   horsemanship,   trail

DAY TWO  pole bending,   breakaway roping,  reining

DAY THREE team penning, show preparation,  mini show

ACTIVITIES AND SEMINARS: youth judging, chuck wagon cooking, horse breaking , equine career paths , National event training simulation game, Stallion Management,  Barell racing demonstration with ABHA.

Confirmed bookings will receive an information pack including a breakoday waiver, health history, itinerary and packing list two weeks prior to the commencement of camp.
