SMITHFIELDS

At Breako’day, our second love, is our working dogs. We breed and work with smithfields, an active intelligent dog, strong on cattle and soft with people. They are strong close workers, with great heading instinct. With the right amount of bark for difficult cattle yet placid enough to play with the roughest of children! (not always the case with other working dogs)

The smithfields coat is medium length and shaggy. The dogs are medium sized with a strong, stocky, and agile structure. They are sensible and very trainable, with innate cattle instinct. They are a gentle dog yet athletic , knowing just when to sit under the shade of a tree and when to work.
